Meg Brilleslyper

ABOUT MEG
Colorado Springs native Meg Brilleslyper is a mezzo-soprano and a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. She is currently a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper Opernstudio in Munich, Germany.
Recent roles include Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel), Flora (La Traviata), Babette (Die Englische Katze) at the Bayerische Staatsoper, as well as Isolier (Le comte Ory), Cherubino (The Ghosts of Versailles), Bradamante (Alcina), Mercédès (Carmen), and Bianca/Lucretia (cover) in The Rape of Lucretia. Upcoming roles include Die Vertraute (Elektra), Clotilde (Norma), and Der Küchenjunge (Rusalka).
An active competition singer, Meg was a Career Grant recipient at the 2025 Sullivan Foundation Competition, a finalist in the 2025 Houston Grand Opera Concert of Arias, and a winner of the 2025 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, Houston District. She is also a recipient of first prize in the Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition and the Eastman Concerto Competition (2023). In March 2026, Meg will compete in the National Voice Competition Finals with the Dallas Opera Orchestra in Dallas, Texas. Meg will also make her Carnegie Hall debut as the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem in April 2026.
Meg is a proud alumna of the Young Artists’ Vocal Academy at Houston Grand Opera (2023), the Aspen Music Festival and School (2022, 2023), the Music Academy of the West Lehrer Vocal Institute (2024), and the Merola Opera Program (2025).
